fitness days on thanet beaches

Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and surrounding villages

The Beaches that fringe the Isle of Thanet are Raw and Beautiful. They hold an Ethereal Magic that truly carries your stresses away.
The entire reason for me completing my Level 3 Personal Training Diploma and set up Inspiration4women was so that I could share these Incredible Natural Environments with women and keep fit and healthy at the same time.
Fresh Air, Adventure and An Overall Sense of Wellbeing is The Mission Statement. www.inspiration4women.co.uk
Many women that join a gym, only go a few times and soon lose the motivation to continue, however the monthly direct debit is still going strong!
Either that, or you spend the time you've set aside for exercise to the Gym and you miss out on Fresh Air which has been proven in trials to enhance All of your Senses.

                                                                                                               Botany Bay

The study found that most trials showed an improvement in mental well-being: compared with exercising indoors, exercising in natural environments was associated with greater feelings of revitalisation, increased energy and positive engagement, together with decreases in tension, confusion, anger and depression. Participants also reported greater enjoyment and satisfaction with outdoor activity and stated that they were more likely to repeat the activity at a later date.
Eligible trials were those that compared the effects of outdoor exercise initiatives with those conducted indoors and which reported at least one physical or mental well-being outcome in adults or children.

                                                                                                Joss Bay

I was born in Margate and have been an Ambassador for the area ever since.  As a 10 year old girl, I would hook up with the neighbours Rebecka and Lucian who had the coolest Mama, Maggie.   We would cycle from Cliftonville to Walpole Bay and then make our way up to Kingsgate Bay where we would climb and crawl through the smugglers caves and jump over death defying blow holes and leap from the seven sisters caves on to the beach from heights far too high for a mother ever to witness.  Such fun, learning about the tides and how the sea has such a dramatic effect on the landscape.  To be swept by the wind and dusted with salt spray. To discover the intricate pathways carved by smugglers and be immersed in a world of adventure and adrenalin.  I was heart broken when my mother announced that we were moving to Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.  No insult intended for Meltonites but I have to honestly admit that I am a beach baby and it's where I feel most at peace.
                                                                                                Ramsgate Sands & Harley

To be able to return now in my 40's after living overseas for so long and enjoy the fabulous landscape and inspiring walks, is a true joy.
Harley is the new edition to the family and once she's not so excitable she'll be joining in on the fitness on the beach days, hopefully carrying our water!
Watch this space.

Tomorrow Sunday, 20th May we'll be meeting at The Albion Hotel (beachside) in Broadstairs  10.00am - 12.30pm for fitness on the beach.
